Program Overview

Originally founded in Atlanta in 1987, Brookwood Dental Assisting Program is the oldest and most experienced dental assisting program of its kind in the country. You will be taught, not in a classroom, but in a practicing dental office and learn from dental professionals who practice and teach the most up-to-date methods.

There are a few programs to choose from in the Birmingham area, but why would you want to pay $10,000 or more for a 6-9 month program and sit in a classroom for the first 4 months? In our course, you will be in the clinic, working with the equipment the very first day! Brookwood Dental Assisting Program, founded by Dr. Brian Barnes, is a revolutionary method of teaching dental assisting in a rapid, but organized manner which is easy to master. Our training methods have been tested and proven over a 20 year period.

Our course is unique in that it is the only one taught in an actual practicing dental office. You will learn the state-of-the-art methods in assisting. Our staff has over 50 years combined experience in the dental profession and in teaching the art and science of dental assisting. We are licensed by the State of Alabama’s Department of Postsecondary Education. After successful completion of the course, students are given a Certificate in Dental Assisting and are trained in Dental Radiology.
